Ascanio Zocchi, with a degree in Architecture and specialisation in fashion and industrial design, set out as a freelancer in 2000

He works in the field of design and creating indoor and outdoor environments and furnishings in various contexts, including homes and public spaces, stores, offices, hotels, restaurants, wellness centres and entertainment venues.

His services include designing interiors, on-site assistance, designing systems, and studying colour and lighting. Zocchi pays particular attention to the environmental sustainability of the materials used, with the aim of creating harmonious settings that blend functionality, trends and well-being, also studying the concept of design items and accessories. In addition to his design business, Zocchi teaches Interior Design, draughting and materials technologies at higher training academies and institutions.

He maintains that the foundation of a good design, be it a design object or an architectural work, is in-depth knowledge of the specific physical and mechanical proprieties of the materials, as well as understanding of colour, the interaction with other materials and the importance of light.

For Zocchi, knowing a material means understanding its most appropriate use and its behaviour both from the perspective of physical and mechanical properties and of its surface with respect to natural and artificial light. Designers therefore need a comprehensive knowledge of the material, of the object being designed and of the function of the machine used.
