The last meeting of its Advisory Board was held in September 2023 in the offices of Biesse, the mechanical engineer and plant manufacturer, on its Ulm campus in Nersingen.
A strong voice for wooden window frame construction – the Bundesverband ProHolzfenster represents the interests of the sector in the media, the political arena and society at large. As a contact partner, it is available to developers and architects to answer questions in all aspects of the versatile potential applications and design options of wooden and wood-aluminium window frames. The federation provides its members with a platform for networking, an interchange of experiences and for collaboration – members are carpentry , joinery and glazing firms engaged in the manufacture of windows, small and medium-sized enterprises as well as suppliers and those involved in the extended value-added chain who also fund “their” federation through their contributions.
The declared aim of the federation is to create a better framework of conditions for the wooden window frame construction sector in Germany. In addition to cooperation with players from the sector, science and society at large, this also includes keeping in touch with the latest trends and monitoring current developments in the market – and maintaining a regular exchange of communication and information on these topics as well as on the internal, ongoing projects on the recycling economy, education and training and on the theme of “Building Simply Wooden Window Frames”. To this end, the Italian machinery manufacturer Biesse welcomed the national federation to its Ulm campus in Nersingen on 21.09.2023. During the productive meeting the committee discussed the current trends and challenges in the sector in detail and pressed ahead with the planning for the 14th ProHolzfenster Congress in April of the next year.
The participants at the meeting of the Advisory Board also took the opportunity to see the ultra-modern, fully-automated CNC machining centre Winline from the federation member Biesse and to put it through a series of thorough tests during a live demonstration. The guests at the meeting were not only impressed with the quality and productivity of the modern CNC machine, according to reports from Jacek Pigorsch, Sales Director Biesse Germany and Head of Marketing Katharina Schaf unisono, but also with the inspiring, general automated environment of the successful event.
